Why WordPress needs looking after
WordPress itself, your theme and every plugin each get updates on their own schedule. Most are small. Some fix security holes that are already being used against sites that haven't updated yet.
Clicking "update all" is easy. Knowing the site still works afterward is the actual job. An update can break a form, a page layout or a checkout, and nobody notices until a customer does.
So we apply updates, then look at the live site. Anything risky - a big plugin version, a theme change - goes onto a staging copy first.
What it costs
Two plans, both with the server, updates, SSL and backups handled. Set and forget is $15 a month, for a site that only needs us a few times a year. Managed hosting is $55 a month and includes up to 30 minutes of support time - enough for most small fixes without a separate bill.
